Six Days Left: Volunteer NOW!

Posted October 29th, 2008 by daniel in News, Turn Texas Blue with tags , .

A week from today, the election will be over. The only question is, will we be waking up to a county run by the same corrupt, incompetent Republicans, or will we wake up to a county that has been swept by Democrats?

The choice is up to us. Democrats are in a position to sweep Harris County, but we need your help right up through the election if we want to make it happen.

We’ve seen an unprecedented wave of Democratic enthusiasm and momentum this year, but we can’t rest until we get every last Democratic voter to the polls by November 4. If we make sure that every Democrat in Harris County votes, we will win. And victory starts with you.

All it takes is two hours. Will you give us two hours of your time over the next six days to make personal phone calls or distribute literature? Your contribution to our GOTV effort will make the difference on November 4.

Get involved at the office nearest you:

Together, we can Turn Harris County Blue.

Early Voting Open Now!

Posted October 22nd, 2008 by daniel in News, Turn Texas Blue with tags , , , , , , , , .

Election Day isn’t only November 4th…it is today.  Early voting has started and here’s why it is important that you do it:

No matter where you live in Harris County, you can vote at any Early Voting location.  On Nov. 4th, you can only vote in your local precinct.  With work, kids, and all the running around we do, isn’t it easier to just vote today when it is quick and easy? For a list of polling locations and times, click here.

Also, make sure you watch our Video from this weekend’s Early Vote rally, and learn why it’s important to vote, and how to make sure that you vote for change up and down the ballot.

The Coordinated Campaign challenges you to do this: send this post to FIVE FRIENDS.  If everyone does this simple, 30 second request, we will reach over 200,000 people.  Will you do your part?

Vote Democratic. Vote Early. Be the Change.

Early Voting Has Started. I’ve Voted. Have You?

Polls opened for early voting in Harris County at 8:00 o’clock a.m. on Monday, October 20.

ACHIEVING AN OVERWHELMING EARLY VOTE IS CRUCIAL TO THE HARRIS COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY STRATEGY FOR WINNING HARRIS COUNTY THIS YEAR.

Early votes can be cast at any one of the 36 early voting locations throughout Harris County. Unlike election day, when you must vote only in the precinct where you are officially registered, early votes can be cast anywhere throughout the county, regardless of the voter’s residence or the precinct on his or her voter registration certificate. Blockwalking this Weekend!

Posted October 15th, 2008 by daniel in News, Turn Texas Blue with tags , , , , , , , .

This weekend — Saturday at 10am (and 2pm at Midtown!) and Sunday at 2pm — join the Coordinated Campaign as we keep surging forward into our second weekend of blockwalking!

Last weekend we had a huge turnout all over the county, and just like last week we will bring our message of change to communities around our Midtown, Westside, East End, and Bay Area offices.

Democrats turned out in record numbers during the March primary because we know this county needs change, and it’s up to supporters like you to make sure Democrats return the polls in even greater force to change the direction of our county and our country.

The Harris County Democratic Party has spent its time and energy building the largest and most effective ground organization this county has ever seen. The only thing left is for you to join us in knocking on doors and spreading the word to your friends and neighbors that Democrats will bring the change we need.

Come do your part this Saturday at 10am (AND 2pm at Midtown) and Sunday at 2pm and help your great candidates turn Harris County blue!

Early voting starts next Monday, and this election is more important than ever. To celebrate the beginning of early voting and encourage everybody in Harris County heads to the polls this week, the HCDP and Obama for America are throwing a huge Early Vote Rally this Sunday, October 19!

We are proud to welcome Senate candidate Rick Noriega as a featured speaker at our rally. Noriega, who served in the Army National Guard in Afghanistan and serves as the State Representative for District 145, will urge Democrats to vote early and straight-ticket to bring the change we need at all levels of government.

The rally will begin at 7:00pm on Sunday, October 19th at 1500 McKinney — Discovery Green at the Anheuser-Busch stage (map).

This is one event you won’t want to miss. Democrats from all over the state will flood Discovery Green. Let’s show everybody that we in Harris County are on the forefront of change in Texas, and that our momentum and enthusiasm this fall will be impossible to beat.
