Posted October 1st, 2008 by daniel in Campaign Offices, News, Turn Texas Blue with tags , .

Like many of our neighbors, Hurricane Ike hit our party’s Headquarters hard.  We have had to move our central office from the location on 610 & Ella to a new office space on Pinemont:

1102 Pinemont Drive Suite F1
Houston, TX 77018 (map)
phone: 713-802-0085

Martha Cottingham and our office staff have done an outstanding job of creating an all new Democratic Headquarters in the face of many difficult challenges.  As of today, the phones are up and ringing, volunteers are busy working, and Democrats are set for winning!

Thank you again for your patience during this difficult time.  We appreciate all your thoughts and prayers, and hope things are well with you and yours.  Come see us at our new Pinemont Headquarters and help us elect Democrats!

Westside Watch 1st Presidential Debate

Representative Hubert Vo Team

Representative Hubert Vo Team

Over 80 Westside Dems gathered to watch the opening Presidential Debate for 08. The attitude for the evening was set by the Vo Team happily marching in bringing flowers, pizza and birthday cake for Representative Hubert Vo Campaign Manager, Karen Loper. Karen shared her birthday cake with all. Thanks to Howard Williams and his great sound system you could hear every word - you could even hear the splats from the Vo Team paper wads as they hit McCain’s image as he repeated once again “Senator Obama doesn’t understand.” Grant and Lavon Thomas, Steven and Beth Zeffert added to the Chips and Salsa provided by HCDP by bringing a fajita feast to share. One of the biggest hits of the evening was microwave popcorn. Thanks!

Looking forward to have a fun filled evening watching the Vice Presidential Debate this Thursday, Oct 2.  Just remember to BYOC - Bring Your Own Chair.

Presidential Debate-Watching Events this Friday

Posted September 24th, 2008 by daniel in Campaign Offices, News, Turn Texas Blue with tags , .

Dear Fellow Democrats,

Harris County is slowly but surely recovering from Hurricane Ike, and good folks like you have been front and center in helping your fellow residents of Harris County through these tough times. Since it may be a long time before life returns to normal for many, and though politics has — with good reason — been pushed to the back of people’s minds, some of our friends and neighbors might miss one of the most important events of this political season: the first presidential debate this Friday, September 26th.

With the same spirit of community and unity shown by Harris County residents after the storm, the Harris County Democratic Party would like to open our offices and extend an opportunity to everybody, those of us with utilities and those of us without, to come together and watch the first presidential debates with us.

One of our debate-watching gatherings will be at Cotton Exchange, 202 Travis Street, Suite 100, Houston, TX 77002 (map) at 7:00pm this Friday, September 26. There will also be events at our Westside office and our Bay Area office, both starting at 7:00pm.

Make sure you extend this invitation to people you know without power! The last week has been hard for all of us, and we all deserve a break to see what’s happening on the national scene.
